Event Name: Help and Health Campaign 2013

Event Theme: Begin Your First Step to change your life

Time: 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Date: 26th – 28th March 2013

Venue: Multipurpose Hall Multimedia University Cyberjaya Campus

Organizer: Malaysian Red Crescent MMU Cyberjaya Chapter

The launching ceremony was attended and officiated by Puan Fatimah binti Sulaiman, Chairman of Malaysian Red Crescent Selangor Branch and Puan Tengku Putri Norishah bt. Tenku Shariman advisor of Malaysian Red Crescent MMU Cyberjaya Chapter. Also present in the ceremony was Mr. Mohd. Nawi Mat Nun, Manager of Student Affair Division (STAD) of Multimedia University and Miss Wong Hui Shin advisor of Malaysian Red Crescent MMU Cyberjaya Chapter .

The launching ceremony was followed by booth visit with Puan Fatimah, Miss Wong Hui Shin and Puan Tengku Norishah. They took about 2 hours to take part in all the booths. They got much information from the visiting. Refreshement was served after that. We prepared malay traditional cake for them.

This is a 3-day in campus health awareness campaign. In campus, there are total of 17 events which are Oral Health Awareness, Hearing Test, Cancer's One Stop Centre, Guard Your Kidney, Jom! Body Screening, Bye! to HPV,  Bone Health Check, Diabetes Consultation, Blood Donation Drive, An Organ For A Life, Union of Body, Soul & Mind –Yoga, Let's Recycle!, Nutrtition for a Brighter Future, Fitness First, First Aid's Stop - CPR and Bandaging and Foot massage.

We also got the supported from Green Home,Tappers Café, Massimo Italian Bread and Health Today Magaine. We are really appreciated their sponsor and with their generousity and we made this event a great succesfull.

Below are details of events held:

1)      34^th Blood Donation Drive (BDD)

This time, National Blood Bank come for 4 days because they feel that MMU students are very dedicated to donate blood to help other people, in order to meet all students’ with different schedule.

Venue            : MPH Multimedia University Cyberjaya Campus

Collaboration  : National Blood Bank

Throughout the four day Blood Donation Drive, the overall successful numbers of blood collected are only 324 packs. Details are as below:

Day 1: 51 packs

Day 2: 89 packs

Day 3: 91 packs

Day 4: 97 packs

2)      Organ Donation Campaign

National Transplant Resource Centre was invited to collaborate in this event. They come to open a booth and exhibit information about becoming organ donation pledge. Registration of becoming an organ donation pledge is also available at their booth.

Throughout the three-day Organ Donation Campaign, there are only 59 organ donation pledges. Details are as below:

Day 1: 16 organ donation pledge

Day 2: 11 organ donation pledge

Day 3: 32 organ donation pledge

3)      Cervical Cancer Vaccination

We have invited two company which were Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) and Federation of Reproductive Health Association Malaysia (FRHAM) to carry out HPV Cancer vaccination for the students for registered earlier before the event started. They also promoted HPV cancer among the students by setting up booth during the event and the injection will be carried out of coming next six month.

Throughout the three-day event, there are total 262 students who registered for the vaccination.

4)      Health Talk

For this year, we also invite company to conduct health talk to the students to increase health awaness among them. There are two session for the health talk conducted by two different health instuition. We have participants from students and also MMU staffs.

Throught out the talk session, there are total of 74 participants who attended the talk.
