VAD D OUTING

Date : 13^th August 2011
Time : 10am- 4pm
Venue : Ulu Yam
Organizer : Malaysian Red Crescent Multimedia University Cyberjaya Campus

This outing was organized to bond all the Red Crescent members. A good relationship among the members is very important for a society. We went to Ulu Yam and we BBQ there. Besides that, we also played games in the river.

Voluntary Aid Detachment D (VAD D) is the first VAD that organized an outing to all the Red Crescent members and committees. We went to the venue of the outing by MMU bus. Besides, we also brought a lots of food there to BBQ. We gathered at 10am and started our journey at 10.30am. We chit-chatting with each other in the bus to break the ice. We reached our venue at about 12pm. Then we started to make the fire for BBQ purpose. After that we ate and had fun together. Our event ended at 4pm and we back to MMU Cyberjaya.

Disaster Relief and Rescue Operation Camp 2011/2012

Dear all,

Disaster Relief and Rescue Operation (DRRO) Camp is one of the annual activities organized by Malaysian Red Crescent Multimedia University Cyberjaya Chapter. It is an activity to train our members with basic skill in disaster management, and how to respond in the case of emergency happens around us.

It is also an exposure to our new members, on the procedure of how Malaysian Red Crescent responds to disaster, together with other organizations and authorities in Malaysia. Join this camp you will have the chances to apply all the things you learned in the first aid course into the real situation. It is challenging and definitively a new experience for you all.

Besides, it is part of the 7 courses which is required in order for you to get an instructor certification. So, do grab this opportunity to acquire the certificate as soon as possible as it only offered once a year.

We do hope that you can response and provide feedback to us immediately.

The details of the camp are as follow:

Date : 28th-30th October 2011 (Friday to Sunday)
Venue : Kem Wirajaya,Forest Resort, Sungai Congkak
Fees : Non-member is RM 45 + RM 20(RC T-shirts)
RC member is RM 40

This won't be only classes/lecture. There will be games, case simulations, and others fun activities awaiting you. Members and non-members are welcome to join us. (Provided you have attended the Basic First Aid course/have sufficient knowledge in First Aid skill)

IHL Course

Dear all RC members,

We, Multimedia University Red Crescent Cyberjaya Chapter are conducting the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) course this Wednesday. The details are as follow:

Date: 17th August 2011 (Wednesday)
Time : 9.00 am -1.00pm
Venue: MPH Extention
Fees : RM 8
Attire: RC T-shirt, Long pants and Covered shoes

IHL is a set of rules which seek, for humanitarian reasons, to limit the effects of armed conflict. It protects persons who are not or are no longer participating in the hostilities and restricts the means and methods of warfare. International humanitarian law is also
known as the law of war or the law of armed conflict.

All RC members are encouraged to take this course in order to complete the seven courses to become an instructor.

What is IHL???
IHL is International humanitarian law, its referred to as the laws of war.
It defines the conduct and responsibilities of belligerent nations, neutral nations and individuals engaged in warfare, in relation to each other and to protected persons, usually meaning civilians.
